The Owners of two side by side lots with existing dwellings were seeking to maximise the potential of the sites in close proximity to shops, public transport and various other amenities.
With existing dwellings located towards the front of the sites and sharing a central driveway accessing the rear, various arrangements were investigated for accommodating villa units.
Despite the site’s constraints in size, slope and surrounding neighbours, three single storey 2bed villa units have been accommodated, each with their own private courtyard, attached garage, open plan Living/Dining/Kitchen.
The design incorporates distinct skillion roofs to help individualise the villas whilst also admitting Winter sun in to the Living areas through high level glazing and raking ceilings. So even though the villas are compact, the abundant natural light provided to the internal spaces make them feel light, airy and spacious.
